Thus ends my brief but enjoyable time as a bike commuter in morgantron, the city of the future. I got run off the road at 35 mph into a gravel ditch.
in the money, ep 5. “kinder, fairer, faster.”
note that this episode is already old news; amanda finished 2nd at ed sander. #aintgotnotimefor4thnow
what’s in a name? in the case of the moneynstuff-Wheels4Life bicycle racing concern, a lot of words. you can just call us moneynstuff-Wheels4Life for short. alternatively, if you’re Joe Jefferson, you can call us “first in line,” “Wheels 4 Life,” “november biiii-cycles - first to the line,” or any other variant. it’s fine, just as long as you’re calling our name for strong racing and propitious teamwork.
ed sander was one of those races. mike kicked off the day with an 8th place finish in the master’s 55+, amanda continued her ascent into form with a 2nd place showing in the women’s b, and chris and rich rounded out the top 20 in the men’s b race. as for the cherry on top, crich wynnbrink took 3rd in the tandem race on a $230 target.com steel monster.
many thanks to the entire ncvc crew for putting on a great race, and overhauling a good course to give the racing community an excellent course.
oh, and thanks to carmine’s for feeding the entire team sunday night. want to join us for the next family meal? chat us up at schooley mill to find out how you too can race for the first in line wheels 4 life november bicycles first to the line team.
two weekends, two podiums for the mns-w4l crew. 5th in the dccx tandem race was good fun, but amanda’s 4th place finish in the women’s b at kinder on sunday was the real deal. expect “in the money” episode 5 this week to chronicle her artful race in severna park.
how’d the rest of us do? mike took a top ten in the 55+ category. his fitness keeps going up up up, so expect even better results in the next month or so. chris fell victim to a starting line crash and finished 32nd in the men’s b, while rich caught a brake cable end cap in his boa shoe closure, which is apparently something that can happen, and dropped from 12th to 33rd, also in the men’s b race.
call it “in the money 4 (alpha).”
i half-way expect nick to tackle the poor bastard at 3:05.
produced by colin.
while the boys have been busy clawing themselves into the bottom of the points in the mabracross super8 series, the women’s captain has knocked down a trio of 7th place finishes. hell yeah, amanda.
W3/4: Amanda, 8th [ed.: expect to see her in the top five at the end of the series]
M3/4: Rich, 30th; Chris, 37th
Singlespeed: Matt, 23rd
this is why we tandem.
